okay. i just bought some time with some popcorn, juice, and pbs. (feeling a little guilty.)
so afternoons are spent filling time until dadda gets home, around 7p. we sold our little honda before we moved out here, so we're a one-car family and he bikes (can you believe it?? in 108-degree weather?) to work and home again. strangely, he loves it. honestly it's inspiring, but also sometimes i think he's just crazy. we'll all envy him when the temp drops about 20 degrees. (in december, right?)
so when dadda gets home (or right before, often) we have some dinner, and the bedtime routine starts around 7:30. i'm sure you remember the drill -- it's much like your own bedtime routine went all those years ago: bath, brush teefies, prayers, family prayers, read two stories (or one story twice), peeps on the potty one last time, and then snuggle down in bed. probably too often than is good for either of us i lay with her until she falls asleep, and then it's my few precious moments alone with dadda before it's time for us to go to bed.
all this to say, i'm sorry. i'm trying to fit my mattbot letters in, but it's not always working out. we do pray for you every single night, though. last night jason said the family prayer and he prayed for "matt on his mission," and the baby interrupted to correct him: "mattbot on a mission, dadda."
so here's why you haven't heard from me yet, and why you'll have to excuse me when my letters are intermittent, but you can expect to hear from me once in a while, i promise. and i'm even going to stick another different letter in this package that's an actual letter and not an excuse, and i hope that counts for something.
love you, mattbot. you're making us proud. :)
